Lydia Atangcho, Vice-Chair

Throughout her high school years, Lydia developed a passion for learning and spreading that passion to others. While a junior at Chattahoochee High School, she began living up to that desire as Vice-President of 121Reach. Lydia deeply enjoys working with a great group of leaders who all have the same vision. The relationships that have been and continue to be formed within 121Reach have really inspired her and she hopes to see this organization grow to its full potential.

In addition to 121Reach, Lydia has been involved in many other clubs and organizations, holding officer positions in the Chattahoochee Spanish Club, National Honor Society, and Mock Trial club, as well as a representative position in Class Council and as a senior leader. Staying active in the community and reaching others is her priority and she strives to do this in all her endeavors as part of these clubs. Lydia has a passion for the Spanish language and has volunteered at a free breast cancer screening event geared toward the Hispanic community. Her future plans include attending graduate school in Spain and further exploring Spanish culture and language. She also enjoys Chemistry and is hoping to do pharmaceutical research. Her other interests include Latin and Ballroom dance and baking (she won 1st place at the Johns Creek bake-off). Lydia is all about helping others, and her ultimate goal in life is to do this for the rest of her life, regardless of any hindrances she faces.

Lydia is now a freshman at the University of Pennsylvania majoring in Chemical Engineering and minoring in Spanish and Math. She is also a Youth Venture Ambassador and hopes to continue her involvement with this organization for the positive impact it has had on her leadership skills and the development of 121Reach.
