Tutoring with 121 Reach has been an enlightening experience. After playing the role of a student for the past 13 years, becoming the teacher in the tutor-tutee dichotomy has provided insight into an entirely different aspect of education and knowledge. Being able to learn something is one thing, but the ability to comprehend a subject and effectively explain it to another individual is a strong achievement, one that is unique to an activity such as tutoring.However, the benefits of this group are certainly not just for the tutors. Each Thursday dozens of middle school students received valuable support from tutors. Students of all varieties came to receive 121 Reach’s services, whether looking for help in classes they were having trouble with, or just seeking help with a math problem that was really bothering them. 121 Reach was the perfect solution for all of these problems.
My tutee has personally benefited from 121 Reach tutoring. Being nervous before a couple of important tests and quizzes, we were able to practice and discuss things that were troubling her with the tests. This is not unique to my tutee and I, however. Many cases of confusion have been resolved because of the support of 121 Reach Tutoring. This program is an extremely valuable one, for both the high school tutors and the middle school tutees. Whether a high school student wants to feel the satisfaction of helping a younger student, or a middle-schooler wants help with a confusing concept in Language Arts, 121 Reach is the answer.
